The launch of the Coalition

The Coalition for Healthy Ageing was created on 11 July 2012 at the Medical University of Warsaw. Prof. Bolesław Samoliński, National Consultant for Public Health was named Head of the Coalition. During the launch session, Coalition members decided to draw up an interdisciplinary document on the problem of healthy ageing in Poland entitled “White Paper on Healthy Ageing”.

The Speaker’s endorsement

In October 2012 the work of the Coalition for Healthy Ageing was officially endorsed and supported by Speaker of the Sejm Ewa Kopacz as Coalition’s Honorary Patron. The activities of the Coalition for Healthy Ageing were also endorsed by Human Rights Defender Irena Lipowicz, Minister of Sport and Tourism Joanna Mucha, Mazovia Province Marshal Adam Struzik, Mayor of Warsaw Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz and the Lech Wałęsa Institute. Economic Forum 2012

A discussion panel on the healthy ageing concept, entitled “Let's age consciously. Polish social policy and healthcare versus the ageing society”, was held on 6 September 2012 in Krynica-Zdrój. The event, a part of the Healthcare Forum organised during the 22nd Economic Forum in Krynica Zdrój, was attended by many experts, including Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Minister of Labour and Social Policy...

Debate in the Sejm

On 27 February 2013, at 11 am, the debate Is Poland ready for healthy old age? Debate on healthy and safe ageing in the context of demographic changes and new economic challenges was held in the Column Room of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. The debate on the healthy ageing in Poland featured presentation of the outcomes of works of the Coalition for Healthy Ageing. More than six months of the Coalition’s activities resulted in drafting an interdisciplinary document entitled “White Paper on Healthy Ageing”, which sets forth recommendations

IDPA Convention

On 24-26 September 2012 the Torwar Hall in Warsaw hosted the CONVENTION INTERGENERATIONAL DAYS FOR PROMOTING ACTIVITY, organised by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy in partnership with the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, Minister of the Interior and the Capital City of Warsaw, with the participation of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Ministry of Health.
